SEED AND HARVEST

All you can do is plant a seed.  Luke 8:4-15 is very clear on what this means.  Have you planted a seed(s)?   Jesus Christ's and the Apostles' time was an agrarian culture.  What we know today is farming.  Even though this "modern" society has gotten away from the concept because of package foods, meats, fruits, vegetables, and big box stores as in Sam's Club, Walmart, Costco, etc., basically it starts from the land.  Yes, today's seeds have been manipulated through being genetically modified from its natural state.  But you still need a "seed" for any life form to grow including humankind.   Research farming and agrarian culture to get a "show and tell" understanding so that you can apply Luke 8:4-15 to your spiritual growth.  Basic "truth" doesn't change no matter how hard mankind try.  GOD's word is forever and ever.  HE changes not as Luke 21:33 tells us " Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never...
The Phycology of it ALL! " The mind is a terrible thing to waste ." (NAACP)    We can see in today's world what that truly means.  The original thought, I believe, was targeting the lack of higher education for people of color (the so called minority group).  The wasted mind of man is seen through domestic and international terrorism.  The political state of mind of people in changing the direction of democracy as seen in the January 6, 2021 insurrection (an attempt to overthrow government) at the seat of our government as seen by the entire world. The phycology of that was fueled and continue to fueled by hate, supremacy, and a false since of "manifest destiny".  It all lines up with the scripture at  1 John 2:16: For all that is in the world--the desires of the flesh, the desires of the eyes, and the pride of life--is not from the Father but from the world. For everything in the world--the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pri...

Hard Times Are Ahead!

As the world spiral into the depths of a seemingly great dark pit, what we say and what we do is of utmost important.  We can give into this "despair" in the world or we can be embolden by the Holy Spirit to sustain us. We can be joyous because God's word is true.  His word has given us all we need to know and do in these end-time days.  We should not be surprised and disheartened by what is going on around us.  Humanly, it is almost unbearable but Spiritually, it is reassuring that God is our strength to endure all these things.  We must study the words of God and imbed them into our heart.  Believe and have faith that God through His Son Jesus Christ have us covered by His mercy and grace.  Even if we lose this human life, we can rejoice that we will have a better life being transformed in the spirit.  As the bible recommends us to "PRAY WITHOUT CEASING" we will overcome all these things.

Christians, Why Fight God!

Christians, Why Fight God? God is a good God.  Why do we fight him?  As Christians we should learn to trust God in our every living moment.  Sometimes we hinder our relationship with Him because we judge our worthiness by our human mind and standards.  The bible tells us that God knows we are children of inherit sin (weakness) and that we struggle to do and think in the right way.  That is why He sent His son Jesus Christ to take on that part of humanity by being offered as a perfect human sacrifice to cover us.  So, when we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, our sins are covered over so that we can have a relationship with Him.  That makes you a child of God.  God have perfect love for us.  It is hard for us to imagine "perfect" love.  But it is true!  We have to go beyond our humanity and launch into the "spirit" of God.  That is the only way we can even begin to understand how this could be.   Jesu...

"The Other"

I remember years ago in one of my college classes, I wrote a paper about "The Other".  I think it was in one of my religious studies class at Seattle University.  I have always been concerned with the way humans treat each other, whether talking about racism or inter-human relationships.  More than likely, the thought would have been about the racisms that persist in the world, seemingly never to go away!   The bottom line of the paper was to convey to the reader that as long as we see individuals as "The Other" we separate them from "myself", I can feel free to conclude my summation of that individual in any category I would place them (negatively or positively).  I then don't have to be responsible for the humanity of that individual in comparison to my own humanity.  In reality "The Other" is YOU too!   If we are to bring about change in humanity to survive as a human species, we must always see ourselves as "The Other".  As the ...

Speech Matters

Taming of the Tongue We usually associate the word "tame" with animals in order to control them or domesticate them for our pleasure or our use.  However, that is not the only application of the word we should consider.  Yes, that   "fleshy muscular organ in the mouth used for tasting, licking, swallowing, and articulating speech".  That is the object I am talking about.   We have come to see over the past decades how much damage can be done with speech, whether audible, visual, or textual.  Today's social media has given the world a platform that can be used to uplift humanity.  But lately, we are seeing it used as a tool causing damage, wittingly or un-wittingly.   Grandma would say, when she heard something uncomely from your mouth, "I'm gonna wash your mouth out with soap!" She would actually get the soap and wash out your mouth to emphasis the point of how you should not speak or say those types of things.  It would m...

Kill the HATE!

The Hate that Binds! We have often heard “the love that binds” but, in this life, I find it is the HATE that binds.  A hate that has been fashioned down through the ages.  The hate that divides mankind against one another.  The hate that is provoked by wicked thoughts in the minds of men.  How else can you explain its degraded demonstration in men through the ages.   It has been fashioned through bloodlines against poor people, Jewish people, people of color, Native Americans, Japanese Americans, Chinese Americans, Italian Americans, Greek Americans, Mexican Americans, African Americans, and among every segment of mankind that has existed through time.  It is exhibited through violence, weaponized with words spoken that are seasoned with innuendos of false statements, hate, “careless whispers”, psychological maneuvering, and plain out disregard for the morals of humanity.  History has recorded the failure of ma...
